Our story began in Austin, Texas. Jerod and I briefly worked together before I went to another job. We knew each for about a year before we started dating. And for that, we must give credit to our dear friend, the big sister I always wanted, beloved to both myself and Jerod... Juli Bruno.

One hot, fateful day, Juli and I were sitting at the Texican Cafe, sipping margaritas and catching up on each others lives. Juli listened as I told her about my latest dating failures. I hadn't been having much luck trying to find my person in the Austin dating pool, and was feeling discouraged. Being the incredible friend and problem solver that Jules is, she had a solution for me. "What do you think about Jerod?" she asked me. Now, I had interacted with Jerod a few times at this point, but I didn't know that he had been harboring a crush on me for a while. My answer to Juli then, which still rings true today, was that anytime I was with Jerod, he always, always made me laugh, and that he always made me feel safe, like I could me my true, quirky self around him and that he would embrace it fully.

Little did I know that this conversation with our sweet friend in a cheesy Mexican restaurant would change the course of our lives, leading us to each other.

You all know us, you know that Jerod and I have lived quite the story together so far. I think I will save the full version for when I write my book.

For now, I will say this...

When you have the right person by your side, you can endure anything that life throws at you.

Hell can freeze over, our home can burn down, we may have to start over again and again, but as long as we have each other (and Pip), we've got everything we need.
